WELLINGTON, April 28. A child, two years ot age, named Dorothy Jackson, fell into n watorhole near her parents' rrcidienco at iliran:ar, and was drowned.

Samuel James Gregson, a casual hand in the railway stores at-Petone, was found dead on the floor of th<> room in which ho had been working. AUCKLAND, April 28. John Barrett, a single man, '15 years of ape. was killed on a railway crossing last night. Tho last train from Waih: wa3 approaching a level crossing near Pacroa, when the driver noticed a dark object on the line and attempted to pull up; but the train went over Barrett, who wes killed instantaneously, his head being completely severed from tho body, one arm nearly so, and both logs badly broken. Parts of the body were scattered over the line for about a chain, and the clothing was completely ripped off deceased's body.
