ARTHUR'S PASS TUNNEL.

THE OPENING CEREMONY AT c . OTIRA. A meeting of the Executive of the East and West Coast Railway Committee was held in the Chamber of Commerce .Committee Room yesterday, there being present: —Mr H. Quane (chairman); the Hon. C. Louisson, the s°S* B 4 r F - *Mr G. Witty, M.P., Messrs J. G, Moore, E C Brown, F. Waymouth, A. Kaye, ' W* •Recce, and H. Adley (secretary). The programme arranged for the approaching celebration, at Otira, in which the Premier 13 to take part, was submitted and approved, and final arrangements j convenience of< guests were made. It is anticipated that the ceremony will commence about noon on Tuesday next, and a train will leare Chrxstchurch for Broken River on Monday morning, to convey those desirous of taking part in. the ! ceremony. A request was made that those intending to accept invitations to be present should advise the secretary (Mr Adlev) not later than to-morrow.
