TELE FUNERAL

At Siir Henry Cnmpbell-lian-nennan's funeral many marks of respect were shorn in London. Members of the House of Commons and mamy peers attended the funeral. The House of Oarrmons adjourned" for a day as a mark of n*p<»fc.

The service at Westminster Abbey was crowded. Tho Kaisor, the French President, and tlie Common wealth sent wreaths, whilst the Australian States sent a combined wreath. M. Clomeneeau's presence caused satisfaction throughout both France and Britain, a-nd tlie papers praise the emtento cordiale. Mr Balfour was absent owing to a chiH. Diplomatists and many representative deputations were present, as well as the Hon. W. P. Reeves and' the Australian Agente-Goncral.

The ATclibishop of Canterbury and the Dean of Westminster conducted the service.

Tho body was eunsequenidy conveyed to Redmont Gaatle, in Scotland. Many marks of respect were paad on tihe journey.
