SHIPPING NOTES.

The Shaw Savill linei Waiwexa arrived at Port Chalmers yesterday morning-, from London direct, after a passage of 45 day*. The vessel has 250 tons of general cargo to land here, and- is due at Lyttelton about the end of this week. The Shaw Savill liner Athenie bound from London to Wellington and Lyttelton, left Capetown on Friday last. The schooner Morning Light is expected to sail this evening- with a cargo of produce for Kelson and Waitapu.

The Westport Coal Company's ateamcr Canopus is to sail at noon to-day for Weetport, and is, due back hero about Saturday next with another carpn of coal. The Kia Ora .will make Wellington her final port about May 16th. The. Athenie, en route from London to New Zealand, arrived at Capetown last ■Friday, one • day ahead of schedule tone.
