CANTERBURY COLLEGE v. LINWOOD.

These teams met on the south ground Canterbury College winning by 20 points to 9. Linwood quickly set up an attack, and H. Wilson securing tho ball, passed to Ormandy, who made a line run and passed to Price, enabling the latter to score. A. Wilson's kick at goal failed. An attack by the College failed through fumbling, and the Linwood forwards took the ball to their opponents' twentvfive, where a bad mistake gave Broad Linwood's second try, A. .. ilson failing with tho kick at goal. Ormandy soon made another opening, and scored an easy try, which A. Wilson failed to convert. Tlio Collego opened the second spell with a strong attack, dud as the result of a passing rush Ryder- scored at tho corner. Young's kick at goal failed. Ryder injured his shoulder and had, to retire. Passing by Ferguson, Young and Chrystall enabled the last-named to score in a good position, but the kick at goal was charged down. The College teuni were playing with much more dash than in the first spell, while Linwood tired very rapidly. College •was awarded a free kick, and Young placed a goal, making tho scores even Ormandy ma do n strong run to the College twenty-flve. but a wretched [)ass spoilt a good chance, and a free kick helped College out of difficulty. A long kick was -well followed by AVilliani-, and, beating Alexander, ho picked up smartly and scored, but Young failed to kick a goal. Play remained in tho Linwood twenty-five, and after a good dribble by Wigley. Collins scored, hut the kiolc at goal was again a failure. College continued to press, the forwards having Linwood well beaten, and Williams taking a pass from Wilson, who made a good run, scored, and Young placed a goal. College winning by 20. points (a goal from a try. a penalty goal, and four tries), to 9 points (throo tries). Mr H. Seward was referee.
