THE BLACKBALL STRIKE.
(SPECIAL TO "THE PREBB.")
GREYMOUTH, April 24. _ A meeting of the- Blackball Miners' Union was held this morning, when the president, Mr Fox, handed in his resignation. Tho resignation was not accepted. It is stated that Mr Fox felt a slight in not being chose-n to rc-preseiifc the Union in the conference to l>? held with the Blackball Company's directors in Christchurch. It is rumoured that a deputation of miners will .wait on tho manager to-day and submit further proposals for a settlement.
The Hon. A. R. Guinness goes to Blackball in the mornLng for, it is alleged, tho purpose of trying to effect a settlement.
