Mr Churchill has issued a irrit for libel against the "Manchester Courier" for publishing a letter accusing him of escaping from Pretoria during tiie Boer war by breaking htis parole, and with deliberate lying on"tihe ChiiKa&e quostion.

Scotfc, Mr Churchill's biographer, Mt Churchill, when captured by tho Boers, wag imprisoned at Pretoria wiuh 60 British officers, Ln tiie States Model Schools, fenced in and guaxdod by armed sentries.
