United Press Association—Bv El«ctxic Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, April 22. Mr Buxton, Postmaster-General, in a letter in reply to the london Chamber of Commorco, in referenco to the International Telegiaphic Conference, declared that he had no intention of supporting any proposal for the withdrawal of the privilege of using codes or artificial words, and that no such proposal had been made; but he thought it only right to expect the public, equally with code nuakors. to co-operate in keeping privileges within reasonable bounds, and observing tho spirit of the regulations, hence it was desirable that the conditions of ipronouncability of words should -bo micro clearly defined. Tbe oiJy intention was to adopt a generous ir_kterpre.ta.tion of tbe bulk of existing codes.
