DENOUNCED
United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.
LONDON, April 22. The Independent Labour Conference denounced tbo Government for entering into an agreement with Russia, and thereby sanctioning infamous tyranny. Tbe members of tho Conference stood up and ©_. t_rasia_rtaca__y cbeerod tlie Russian Socialists.
It was declared that Viscount Marley's methods in India were as bad as thewo of tb© Russian Bureaucrats.
Dislike of the .Anglo-Russian agreement is not confined to the Labour party. There is a feeling in Radical circles that Great Britain supported tho tyranny of the reaction-aries i_o. making the agreemeot. The "Albany Review" said a few months ago that "Sir Edward Grey's owe words as to tho position of Russia in Europe- and tho umfortuniato suggestion of the Kronstodt visit, have given rise to th© very -nattunal suspicion that tho AngioRussian agreement was designed to strengthen the existing Russian Gove^l__n«n*.' , Writing in th© sam© review, Mr H. W. Novinson said: "Four years 0450 we broke off relations with Servia, because an un»popula_c king and queen bed been murdered bv a gang of officers. Wo are now entering into oloser relations than ever with a detested Government whdoh counts its exiled, tortured, and murdered victims by scores of thousands. Is it that a and queen are valued at so _ many toousand man and women apiece, or is it that Servia is weak and Russia is still accounted strong? Let us not be deceived. It as impossible to limit our agreement to scraps of difftaret frontier or dubious spheres of influence. In the eyes of the Russian peopl© iwy agreement implies support of the system which grinds them low. W© have still the noblest reputation to maintain. The Near East still regards us as the champions of liberty."
