$ (raKB9 ASSOCIATION" TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, April 23. Iu order that the touring fleerb of the United S.utos shall havo a reception fitting to tho occasion, tho Mayor (Air A. M. Myers) has convened a meeting of citizens for to-morrow afternoon to consider what course of action shall be taken. Amongst the f.uggestions so far offered for tho entertainment of our visitors are an escort into port by a flotilla of steamers and sailers, a great official welcome by Parliament and the municipality, a" visit of tho officers and some of tho .men to Rotorua, a great Maori gathering in Victoria Park, a ball in tho Drill Hall, an interprovincial football match, a special race meeting, an aquatic carnival, a grand display by the school children and cadets, a round of .right-seeing, the provision of a ekib hcuise for the sailors, the provision of large information bureaux for tlie seamen, arrangements for quickly converting American currency into British, tpecial excursions to pi a ecu of interest nrar the city, the presentation of commemorative cards to each man of the fleet, and the arrangement of • automobile trips.
