MOTOR CYCLE RELIABILITY TRIAL.
The judges, Messrs A. Morten, A- F. CoMiiiß, and G. D. Hansford, last oveniiw. declared the following awards i*n co-nnsotion -with the -iviotor Cycle Reliability Triail held by t'he Chrisitchur<ih Cycling and Motor Olub from Christchnirch <to Rakaia Gorge amd back on Easter Monday, in whioh 28 competitor, took part.

Rakaia hill. Io (points; B. Beken. 3. h.i>., Triumph, belt came off. 4 marks; F. H. Dodd. 3. h.p:. Triuniph. hearings front wheel fell out. did not complete course, disqualified ; A. "Macartney, 4-h.p. FN., dismounted aud left team'at Kirwee. 7 marks; J. H. Muirhead. 3} h.p.. Triumph, dismounted, R-akaia hill. Io marks; E. Bingham.. 3. h.p., Triumph, carburetter troubles. 20 marks; A. West, 1. h.p.. F.X., lost number plate, 4 marks; F. Pannett, 31 h.p.. Triumph, overheating, ignition, dismounting on 1-iN. 50 marks; G. Bradley. 4 h.p., F.N.. dismounted on hill, 15 marks: W. Blundcll, 3. h.p.. Triumph, took wrong road, bolt loose in frame, 7 marks. The others failed to finish to time. r In making their awards the judges took into consideration the following points:—Cl) Marks lost through repairs and adjustments; (2) state of machine on arrival; (3) observation of rules by competitors; (4) weight and horse-power of machine; (o) manner in which Rakaia Gorge was surmounted ; (G) manner in which engino started. Considerable difficulty was experienced by the judges in making their awards, owing to insufficient information having been supplied by the competitors themselves.
