ROAD BOARDS.
RAKAIA. Tho last meeting of the Ralcaia Road Board ivas- attended by Messrs R. Xowcil Bealey (chairman), Geo. Steele, K. Wifeon and D. W. Westenra. A potition, sisned by six ratepayers, for tho removal of all tlie sates erected across road, v.as received. Tho petition alleged that these gates Jia<3 Iwv-omo a public and orders for their removal were made. llr G-eo. Sheat wrote, agreeing to act on l>ohalf of tho Board au a member of the Assessment Court. With regard to Messrs Judge and Poeocks application for tho shinning of Terrace road, to he completed as far as (Jlaesoy's corner, it was decided that it was jiot a favourable time, of year to put in hand a work of this nature. The annual meeting of ratepayers was fixed for Monday, May 11th, at 1 p.m., and the next meeting of the Board for 10 a.m. on tho «ame day. Accounts for £99 wero paeecd.
