MATCHES AT DUNEDIN.
(FBEBS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) DUNEDIN, April 18. Football matches between Linwood and Union, and between AlbambTa and Merivale, were played to-day; The weather was perfect and the ground in splendid order. Linwood proved too good for Union, and held the advantage throughout, eventually winning by 12 -points to nil. Tries were scored by Reid (2) and Hale, and Wilson kicked a penalty goal.
The Alhambra and Merivale contest waa fast a_d interesting, the former securing a victory by 5 points to 3. For the winners Mars ton scored and kicked a goal, while Fuller kicked c penalty £oal for the visitors. The Merivale forwards played a good game r outclassing their opponents, and Alhambra were somewhat lucky iiiscoring a win.
