Frank Yon Veltheim was charged at the Guildhall with having demanded money, accompanied with menaces, f rom Mar 'Solly Joll.' 0 The prosecutor testified that' ho first saw accused in the dock at Johannesburg in 1898, being tried in connection with the death of witness's brother. Witness produced at the Johe_aesburg trial seven black-mailing letters,- which were now road. Tho hand writing was the same as that of a letter received in June, 1907, demanding money. Witness, since the trial ot Johannesburg, had not seen prisoner till to-day. Accused was remanded for a week.
