CLARKVILLE.
Tho annual Methodist Sunday School picnic of the combined schools* (Clarkvillo, Eyreton, and Coutt's Island) was held in Mr J. A. Clothier's paddock, Clarkvillc, on Doccmbor 14th. A cricket match between Coutt'e Island and Clarkvillo was won by tlio latter by three runs. After an excellent tea tho Rev. T. Trestrail distributed the prizes to the children, and the Rev. E. 0. Blamiers gavo an address. Mr 0. Holland, on behalf of the scholars past and present of the Clarkvillo School, presented Mr J. A. Clothior with a handsome Kaiapoi rug iv recognition of his services for tho
last sixteen years. Miss Hassall presented Mrs Clothier with a beautiful urn.
