ELLESMERE.
The Jast meeting of the Ellesmere Road Board was attended by Messrs J. Storry (chairman), Lochhead, J. McMillan, J. Gilbert and M. Dixon. The Southbridge Town Board applied for £40 per annum towards tho maintenance of roads leading into tho township. It was decided that as the traffic on the Southbridge road waa local, and not a through traffic, the Board did not consider it was responsible. It was decided to prosecute any person found throwing any dead animal into tha public drains of the district. Messrs W. Jamieson and Win. Withell were given permission to carry telephone wires over the roads at their plaoee. Tlio following tenders wero accepted :— For, shingling road, McPhercon to McGill's corner, Lakeside, Wra. Dawson, at Is 6d per yard; for shingling Lake road, Bowis corner to Irwell Creamery, Thomas Jackman, at la lid per yard) for shingling Southbridge Junction road, "Brown's corner to Southbridge, Thomas Jackman, at Is 4d per yard.
