The Conciliation Board has filed its award , in t7io case, of the Canterbury i'ellmongers' aqd tikinners , ludiutrial Union v. Jlowron Uros. and other*. The award provides that the houis or luWnir shall bo. 48 j:er week, to «nd at V{ noQU on «atuiu«j, with lioerty to work an extra hour "per day on auy day of the week (except Saturday} between December Ist and iMa.y Ulst, such hour to be paid tor at ordinary rates, 'i'ho hours of labour shall he between 0 o.m. aud (5 p.m. on five days Of tho wee,k and till noon, on Saturdays. From June Ist to November 30th the hours shall bo between J.'M a.m. and 6 p.pi. on five days of the week and till noon on Saturday. ISiglit shifts may he worked if necessary provided they da not exceed, eight hours ou six consecutive nights of alternate weeks, at the came rate of a,s aro paid between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Tho first two houra' overtime on any day or night to be paid for at the rat& of time and a quarter, and aftqr thai time and » ha\f. The holidays allowed are New Year's Day, Good friday, Eaater Monday, Show pay, Aijnnrewary, Day, Christinas Day and Boxing Day. All work on any «ay except Good Friday end Christmas to, be paid for at tlio rate of time and a quarter for- the first twu hours, and, after that, time, and a halj.
