The selection of son.gs for Miss Fletcher's soles was hurdi.v a hiippy one, as tho majority of tlit'iii were eet above the limitation of her voice. They were mostly of a character that a .soprano would have selected, and did not afford an opportunity of bringing out tho middle register of Miss .Fletcher's voice, which is undoubtedly tho host part of it. One, of tho encor* , . numbers, which was well within tho range alluded to, the old English ballad "Islington," wae by far tho unost successful of Iho items given b.v Miss FJotcher. An "Avo Maria" by Mr Santley wns amongst the items, tho others including Handel's '-Had I Jubals Lyre," Jjishop's 'Tell Mo My lieurt," in which tho florid passage.-; wero given with good execution, Sullivan's •••Mv Dearest Heart "' "My Mother Bid/ Mc Bind Mv Hair," nnd the page song from "ligaro.' . Several onccres were given, and qiiilo a number of bouquets wero pre.sen.ted to 'the debutante. Of Miss Alma \\ ells's tJio well-known 'Jiallado in A" by Chopin was ployed with a great deal of brilliancy and faeihtv of •execution. Miss \\'<4\s. was also very good in her opening mun- • •er, "Ktudo Do Contort," by Liszt Mr Georgo was somewhat handicnppwl by a cold, but nevertheless «ing with a considerable amount of suocoss. MOXTCOMBRVS EXTERTAIXERS There a very good attendance at the lheatro ]{oyal Rst night, when -Montgomery's Entertainers again appeared. .Several new pictures were shown nil of which wero very good. Miss Hargood and Mr Monks gave several it.-ms. To-night the same bill will bo loivented, and to-morrow afternoon tho second matineo will bo given.
