NEW BRIGHTON.
The annual meeting of the New Brighton Lawn Tennis Club was hold on \V'ednesday night, Mr G. W. Bishop prreidin-e;. The annual report and bal-ance-ehept showed that tho club had completed a successful year with a credit balance. The election of officers resulted ac follows:—Patron, tiho R&v. H. Purchas; president, 3fr R. C. Bishop; vice-presidents, Messrs T. Bullock. J. Checkley, G. D. Macfarlane, G. W. Staniland, H. Forwood, A. E. Xicholls, and H, E. Harigreavesj hon. secretary and treaßiirer, Mr G. W. Bishop; lion, auditor, Mr C. H. Franks; goneral committee, iMrs Hargrcaves, Miases Pat trick. Staniland, Clarke, and Messrs Lockiwood, Nicholls t Paul, Clarke, BLack and Lees; selection committee Messrs Lockwood, Bishop, and Nichollfl: delegate to Lawn Tennis Association, Mr A. S. Nicholls. Sixteen new members were elected. It wae decided to the opening day on Saturday, the 19th instant, and extend invitations to members of othor clubs. A hearty vote of thaivks was passed to the retiring secretary, Mr J. C. Andersen.
