Arrivals in Christchurch yesterday included 'Messrs R. Ryan, W. Dimock (Wellington), H. Harrowell (Auckland), J. R. Scott (New Plymouth), and Mr, Mrs and Mies Barron (Duncdin). Mr C. J. Pirani left for Wellington by the Mararoa on Saturday night* Colonel Hume, inspector of prisons, was a passenger to Culverden by tlio north express on Saturday morning. 'Mr J. C. Blackmore, the Government pomologist, left for Wellington on Saturday night. He will prooeed to Nelson about Tuesday, where he will deliver a series of lectures.
