WELLINGTON, July 25. A portion of the" fellmongery at the Wellington Meat Export Company's works at were destroyed by fire, witn their, contents, to-night. The company's employees, with the lire lighting plant, prevented the flames spreading. WELLINGTON, July 26. * The fire which did so much damage at the Meat Export Company's fellmongery at Ngahauranga last nig it was the second outbreak in the samo building within a month. Last night'j fire destroyed the upstairs portion of the fellmongery and contents, includi lg a large quantity of wool, a large motor and generator, and several drying ma chinea. The machinery on the ground floor waa damaged by water. The workmen used a large Merry-weather fireengine with good results, and the Oity Fire Brigade also rendered excellent servioe, despite the fact that it waa eummoned at rather a late stage. The building was insured in the Alliance and other offices for £3550, and the plant, electrical fittings, etc., in the same offices for £3080. The inauranoes on the wool are not available.
DUNEDIN, July 26. Dan-son and McKechnie's big sawmill at Ratanuj waa destroyed by fire this morninjj.
