KAIAPOI.
At the monthly meeting of the School Committee tlio St. Andrew's Caledonian Society offered £2 2s as prizes for ossays on "Mary Queen of Scots" and "Robert Bruce" for the High School and in the higher primary classes. The roll number was reported to be 41.5, and average attendance 310. The High School roll number was 19, and average- attendance 17. It was decided that tho holidays commence on August 31st, and last a fortnight. Mr T. R. Lcithead offered a model sheep, which was accepted with thanks. It was reported that the fencing of the school ground along tho railway line was being attended to. The accounts passed for payment amounted to £5 12s lid.
