> . LECTURING TOUR IN AMERICA AND ENGLAND. (SPECIAL TO "THB VKCBB.") AUCKLAND, July 9. Dr. Bell, the Government Geologist, leevea Auckland to-morrow for * I*©-' turing tour in America and England. Hβ says':— It is my intention to go by tho Manuka to Vancouver; thence on to Portland (Oregon), where I am to deliver a lecture on the condition* of , life and the natural resource* of New Zealand After that I propose to make a brief excursion to the Rocky Mountaine in the .Mount Sir Donald District, and then go on to Ottaw* to spend a few diiys with my people. Early in October I am to go to Boston to deliver three lectures at Harvard University on "Thermal Phenomena in . tho Hot Lake* District," "Gkciation in the Southern Alps," end 'Th* Natural Mineral Iteeouroea of New Zealpnd." Subsequently I am to deliver the same lecture* at Yale University. I also aui to attend the Convocation of tho Quwn'e University at Kingston, Canada, on October I6th. and deliver a lecture on "The Physical Feature* of Now Zealand." After that lam to lecture at the Wisconsin University, Modison. Thon I propoee to return to Boston and epeak at the Victoria Club and other institutions in that city. I am next to crosa th« Atlantic, and early in November lecture before the Thormal Geographical Society of England, also <it Cambridge University on tho 10th of that month, and if I can find time, I will also riait Scotland, where it is probable 1 may lecture before the Scottish Geographical Society, but so far no fixture has been made.
