THE LATE SIR JOHN HALL.
The following resolution has been forwarded to Mr J. D. Hall by the Burgesses' Association:—"lhe Executive of the City and Suburban Burgesses' Association desires to add its condolences to those already tendered to the relatives of the lato Sir John Hall. Ihe Association ventures the opinion that the public spirit and benevolence which marked the civic lite and found expression in tho bequests ot the deceased statesman will induce men of wealth and position in Now Zealand to emulate so grand an example.' At the meeting of tho Domain Board yc-sterday, a resolution was carried, on tho motion of the chairman, Mr il. J. Beswick. seconded by Mr W. H, Cooper :—t "That this Board de-sires to pl*»te 0:1 record its appreciation of the many eminent services render©:! to the colony by the late Sir John Hall, and its sympathy for his family, and deplores th© death of so eminent a statesman."
