» — The death occurred at Melbourne on Tur-.yi y of Air Francis Minetti, tho '•father' of tho stereotyping trade in Australasia. Mr Minetti, a native of Switzerland, wa6 engoged on the London 'Daily Telegraph" when, thirtytwo years ago, ho was asked by Air David Symo to take charge of a nowstereotyping plant for tho office of the Melbourne "Ago." This was ono of the first stereo plonts erected in the colonies. When Mr Minetti entered tho -'Age" offico the circulation of that journal was 16,000 daily, and eleven years Inter, when ho transferred his services to the Sydney "Daily Tolegr.iph,'' tho cirou)at-on of tho "Ago" had attained 100.000. After four years with tho Sydney "Daily Telegraph." Mr Minetti received an offer from the Melbourne "Herald," in which office ho had served for seventeen yea is when he died. He leaves a grown-up family of four daughters and two sons, one of tho latter being in tho stereo department of the "New Zealand Times," Wellington.
