On tho humour of the Americans Dr. Forsyth, a recent visitor to tho United fcUtcs, has much to say. Uo told on interviewer ono littlo anecdote (not n "story) as a taste of their quality. Two young medical students from a northern Str.to were travelling in tlie south, and on reaching a largo city wished to see the hospital. They asked that they ".night he shown over the premises by the prettiest nurso on the staff. In her company they spent r.n agreeable time, and on parting one of them said, "If ever I am ill I'll semi for you." Tho nurse replied demurely in tho peculiar sweet drawl of the south, "That shows you're a Yankc. A So'thern man wouldn't havo waited till ho was ill."
