NOTES AND MEMORANDA.
The members of the Scottish Society will hold an evening of song, dance, ;ind story to-night in their rooms in celebration of the birthday of Burns. To-night the members of the Caledonian Society will hold "a nicht wi Burns." Mr W. J. Ferguson, one of the charter members of the Society, who is now residing at Perth (W.A.), will give a lecturette on Burns. This will be illustrated by limelight views comprising a portrait of Burns, scenes in the Burns country, etc. It will be interspersed with Burns songs, etc. His Excellency the Goveris the patron of the Society, has intimated his intention of being present, and the guard of honour will l»e furnished by the Canterbury Highland Rifles.
