According to thc Bishop of Wellington, thc greed for gold is now much stronger among :ho people of New Zealand than it wav a few years ago. HiLordship, spr._king at the College School (remarks tiie Wanganui "Chioiucle") said that ivhik* travelling on the lailwuy ho heard an unusual amount of talk about money and the quickest means of becoming wealthy. This doMie for riches, to tho exclusion of nobler ideals, was to be deplored. In this conn(M*tion he mentioned that tho Americans, though a fine people, knew lets than any other people what and joy and rtst weie. This was due to their feverish rush after tho dollar.
