BELFAST.
The Canterbury Frozen Moat Company's works, after having been closed down for tho past month, resumed operations on Monday. Extensive alterations nre being effected, and additions made to the plant, in order to afford more working space- and facilitate the carrying on ol tne work g<«nerally. After much delay and necessary shifting of plant and machinery, the wellknown Silkstone Soap works, of the New Zealand Provision- and Produce Company, havo commenced fresh oi*»i-.i-tions in' their new premises, adjoining the chemical works. . In view of tho opening of the fishing reason the angler* of the district are busy preparing their rods and tackle, nnd are looking forward to an enjoyable season's 6port.
