SPRINGFIELD.
The benedicts of .Springfield and surrounding districts held their annual ball in the Springfield Town Hall on the 14th inst., when the holding capacity of tho hall was taxed to ita utmost* Tho music was supplied by Messrs Wells and Taylor, of Christchurch, Mr Ev ins acted as M.C. Tho efforts of Messrs Craighead (secretary), Bennett (treasurer), and tho committee combined to make a most enjoyable evening.
