LICENSING COMMITTEES.

The Riccarton Licensing Committee met *at tho Rieonrton Road Board office yesterday, when Mr Alexander Boyle, iiv tho absence of tho Magistrate, was elected chain..,.": The police reports were satisfactory, and the following transfers were confirmed:— Timothy Kt'iloy to Robert Logan, Riooarton Hotel; John Samuel August to Henry Francis Fuller, Black Horse Hotel; and William Alfred Lawrence to Daniel O'Donohue, Papanui Hotel. , The quarterly meeting of the Hummi i Licensing Committee was held at An-.berley yesterday. Present—Messrs Rcr.ner (chairman), McXaught, John k Allan. Crampton, and Mason. The ' trarsfor of the Crown Hotel, Amberley, 'from W. 6. Mitchell to Henry Franks i was confirmed. A deputation, «m- - eistmg of Messrs Starky, Courage, and Parsons, representing tho Amberley Breeders' Association, waited on the committee, praying that a booth be allowed on the Show Ground, as in foimer years. After considerable discussion, the committee decided, by three votes to two, that the Stipendiary Magistrate be recommended to accede to the request. The police reports on I all the hotels wore satisfactory.

* (press association- telegram.) WELLINGTON*, September 7. At tho quarterly meeting of the N«wtrswn Licensing Committee, it was indicated to the licensee of the Park Hotel that the licence would not bo renewed at the annual meeting unless the house was conducted in a better manner.
