BAND OF HOPE CONTEST.
A well-contested Band of Hope competition wae held in the Oddfellows' Hall, Woo6?end, on Tuesday night. There was a large audience, anil the Rev. A. Ashcroft presiHod, end Mrs Pinfold and Mr Lane acted as judges. The prizewinners were: —Vocal soles ■. Dm is Stanton 1, Marjorie Little 2. Recitations: Amy Chambers. 1, Flossie SmitK and Emily Petrie (equal) 2, Rosie Petrie and Lorna. Bramley (equal) 3. Piano eolos: Ruby Pateman 1, Mabel and Ernie Gibb (equal) 2. Recitations (boys): Allan Smith 1. Raymond Bramley and Hugh Petrie (equal) 2. Vocal eoio: Olive Thompson 1, Ruby Pateman 2. Instrumental duet: Mabel and Ernie Gibbe 1. Recitation: Ralph Burnett I,' Ernie Oibbs 2. Vocal solo: Elsie F«lt«n 1. Recitations (trirls under 13): Irene Chianery I, Khoda Ellmers 2. Emily Chamber 3, Gladys Borland 4. Pianoforte duet: Clarice Patcman and Evcril Bder 1.
