Tlie House resumed at 7.30 p.m., in Committer of Supply on the Estimates.
The usual discussion, covering a variety of subjects, took place on tho first item. __ The MINISTER of JUSTICE, replying to complaints, defended tho law dealing with the offence of short weight. He declined to discuss any cases of the kind, and insisted tbat it was a matter for the particular authorities to attend
The PREMIER announced, in the matter of workmen's- homos, that hiaeolleague had reported that the homes at Pctone were being let at rents of 9s to lis 3d a week. The PREMIER said there were good reasons why tho report of the actuaries in the case of the education superannuation scheme of this country had not beon given effect to. Ho declined to discuss the question at that stage. . • The first item passed unaltered, progress was reported, and tho House rose at 11.30 p.m.
