The above diagrams serve to show the reason why our prices for imported merchandise are co low. You see in both diagrams (Nos. 1 and 2) the point A represents the manufacturer, from whom all the goods must come in the first place. Now the goodß may arrive in two wars ; first, as illustrated in diagram No. I—the expensive way—tbat is, they come first to 11, the New Zealand Wholesaler, who makes a profit out of them by selling them to C, the Christchurch retailer, who makes another profit by selling them to D, the Christchurch public—YOU. Then they come the second way—the economic way—as shown in diagram No. 2; that is to say they come divr-1 from the manufacturer to us, point B, and then on to point C, the Christchurch public- -YOU. By this method you see you eliminate the wholesaler's profit, and have only to pay the small profit charged by us.
