■♦■ . - • John Taehen, a farmer on the Roscwill settlement, dropped dead at Pleasant Point township last evening. He had attended a stock sale during the day, and was apparently in good health, though he was known to have a weak heart. Ho was 52 years of age. Mrs C. E. Skevington. of Waikuku, was severely injured about the face and head by being thrown from her pony trap, which accidentally capsized near the Kaiapoi bridge on Tuesday morning. (press association telegram.) DUNEDIN. May 22. At tho inquest, on Elizabeth Roy, who died after Deing knocked down, by a tram car, the jury retu rri «l a verdict of accidental death. The evidence showed that tho deceased, who was addicted to drink, had not got on we.l with her husband 6ince he had taken out a prohibition order against her. She loft home on Sunday morning. Her husband tried to induce her to go home yesterday afternoon,- but he left her when sho attempted to scratch him.
