CHRISTCHURCH PRESBYTERY
A meeting of the Christchurch Presbytery was held yesterday. .Resent—Revs. J. Mackenzie (presiding), Dr. Envin, T. Tait, D. J. Steele, «. Maxwell, T. McDonald, W. Spence, and p. Wilson (clerk), and Mcesis Bowie and Moher. .... , ,, u^ A call was received in favour of the Rev R. Francis from tha Oust congregation. It was presented by the Key. D. J. Steele, and the oongregaibon waa represented by Messrs Ruddenk.au, Forbes, and Haseall. _ The call was sustained, and it was resolved to transmit it to the Wellington Presbytery. June 6h was provisionally fixed for the induction. The Rev. T. McDonald reported mat he had visifed the Kaiapoi congregation and considered it was r»po tor a call There seemed little difference of opinion, and he thought a unanimous call would be made. ... ~ It was decided that moderation should be granted.
