The workers ask that, the houm ot labour shell be from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on eaoh day except Saturday, one Jiour to be allowed for dinner, from August Ist to Aprir3oWi, and from 8 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. on each day except Saturday, one hour to be eJlowed for dinner, and Oh Saturday from 8 a/m. until nooni, from May let to July 31st; in the case of feeders, two hours a day; all time worked-before 8 a.m. and after 5 p.m. to be paid for at the rate of time and a half, and all dime worked during tihe dinner hour to be oalleu - overtime. The following are the minimum rates • of wages asked for:—Hammer and dr,ill, facemen, and spallers, 1b 3d peahour; pick and shovel strippers *nid , fillers, drays, trucks, of brakeinen, Is lid per hour; screening wheelero, ls ljd per hour; feeders, Is 3d peehour; blasters, Is 6d per hour; cutfer*, la 3d per hour; dreeeers, Is 4Jd per hour; metal from tihe crushing machine, la'ltd per houp; «i!l wages io be paid in the employer's tatne and on the works; all tools to be found by the employer; all wages *o be paid weekly, and not more than one day's wages to be keq>t in hand by the employer. The statutory holidays named are:—i. New Year's Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, the King's Birthday, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day, provided that when Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day. or tho King's Birthday fall «n a Sunday, the who'e holiday shall be held on «i& next Monday. Preference of employment is askod for Unionists. ,
