MEMBERS' TRAVELLING EXPENSES. (Received May i_th, 1.5 a.m.) LONDON, May 17. Mr Lloyd-George, president of the Board of Trade, introduced a Bill providing for the taking, in. 1908, of a compulsory census of home industries for 1907. Employers will be requested to furnish confidential information about material used, hours of work, persons employed, wages paid, and plant in use. Mr Chamberlain) heartily supported tho measure, remarking that all were agreed as +<_ the desirability oi securing reliable statistics.
Mr W. Orooks's Bill to secure travelling facilities far members of the House of Commons in the discharge of their Parliamentary duties was read' for the first time.
The Finance Bill was read for the ' 6ocond time.
