Several of the crew wore stricken with typhoid shortly a!tor leaving, and two died. Owing to boiflU'.raiis weather and the loss of hands the royago was protracted. Provisions ran low, though they were not exhausted. Tho captain of the Talca says that hiri isigaaLs weru misread at Tahiti. He only reported typhoid, and not emallpox. After leaving there the weatlujr continued dirty. The crew gradually recovered and are now well. On &r----riving at tho Heads he was ordered to proceed to Geelong, but he decided to put in to replace tho dead men, and to replenish his provisions. The Talcu has been quarantined .pending her departure for Geelong.
