ELLESMERE ROAD BOARD.

The question of purchasing an engine, waggons, and elevator, 'tor shingling purposes, at a cost of £1100 was then discu&sed, and it was resolved to leave the matter to the new Board to deal with. Some dif.cuesion enMiod regarding the eides of the road being let for grazing purposce, and the services of the rangers dispensed witn, but it was eventually to allow the matter to stand as at present. The clerk started that the only ratepayer* nominated for the three vacancies had been Messrs Wm. McMillan, James Storry, and Edward Ruddock, and ho therefore declared them duly elected. Mr McMillan returned thanks on behalf of himself and colleagues for the confidence again reposed in them. On the motion of Mr John Rennie, it was resolved that it be a recommendation to the new Board to contribute £50 to the funds of the New Zealand Industrial Exhibition. After-dkcuesion, Mr Wm. McMillan, the representative of Ellesmere on the Hospital Board, wae instructed to vote to take over the Consumption Sanatorium when it was properly equipped. A hearty vote of thanks was nassed to the old Board for the services rendered.
