Pan-Germans are now agitating for interference with the Anglo-French agreement in regard to the spheres or' influence in Siam. ASTOUNDING CASE OF RED TAPE. The villagers, being unable to cope with a fire at Haringen, in Alsace-Lor-raine, the fire brigade at Bale, Switzerland, hastened to thoir help. The German Customs officials, however, would not allow the engine to pass unless duties on the engine's appliances were paid. The fire brigade was, therefore, compelled to return to Bale. AN ANGLO-RUSSIAN ENTENTE. ST. PETERSBURG, April 18. The "Novoe Vremya." Btrongly advocates an Anglo-Russian entente, and declares that Great Britain, after Germany, is Russia'e best customer, while politically the arrangement would bo most important, as Great Britain would be able to guarantee the security of Russia's Far Eastern possessions.
