DINING CARS.
TO THE EDITOR OF "THE PRESS."
Si,-,—My attention has boon drawn to a letter signed ••Commercial,"' appearing in your ii-sup of the S)th. 1 challenge liim to authenticate his statement a<; to alleged conversation w.t.n a waiter on tho dining' car. His remarks aro most unfair to both tho management and staff, on the several cars. I have been a constant traveller, not limited to New Araland and Australia. and I must say 1 that my o\perionce of tho way the io <1 iii cooked and al-o the m.anmr in whirli it is served, is quit-e the reverse 'o what lie Fioni the tone of tii« letter I am inclined to think it is a cafls of personal animosity, otherwise; why w ho not man enough to sign his name to a letter likely to cau«n trlction mar.agement and st_aff? At the same !ime, it would have given those concerned a chance to vindicate themselves. The *taff appear to mc to bo thoroughly conveiisant with their duties, and I understand that only thorouchly competent men are enraged. i —Yours, etc., FAIR PLAY.
