THE IMPERIAL GOVERNMENT'S EXHIBIT.
' Under date of Maax/h 9th, our Louden correspondent write*: —It was yesterday announced that the Imperial Governjnenr. ha* granted the sum of £10,000 ior tihe purpose of sending aji exhibit ■representing Britkh art and education to the New Zealand International Exhibition. Tho art section will include oil and water-colour paintings by artists who are members or' the chief academies arul art societies in tho United Kingdom, engravings, etching?, and bkick and while drawings, small pieces ot sculpture, architectural designs ot pubiic and private buildings, and speciino:;s of applied arts, such a.s work in inot-al. wo>:id, and glass, book binding:, printing, embroidery, caligraphy, etc. Tli? educational section of tine exhibit will bo illustrative of education in the schools, univonsities, and technical eo!----legtv; of G.n\it Britain. In this suction will b:> a Board of TVado exhibit illiistrati'Mjj the conditions of laiKxur in the country. Geoyx.Mthy and exploration will be ill list rated ly work of the Ordliiinc? Stinvy, tho Roj _ -aI Geographical Society, the Palestine Exploration Fund, etc. Specimens of modern pictorial and i-ccntilie pho-togjraphy, of medals coiU. and seals produced at the Royal Mint, and plans of public works i?i Great Britain will I>p included. The exhibit is to be prepared under the auspices of the Hoard «1 Trade.
