Just prior to the start of the Dillman's Handicap the secretary of the club, Mr G. R. Rudkin, was ta-kon ill, and expired almost immediately. Mr Rudkin, who was about 65 years of age, ha a acted as secretary since the olub was in its infancy, and his sudden doath cast a gloom over tho afternoon's sport. The sum. of £1521 passed through the totalisator, against £1296 last year. Results:—
