The T-srnan trelding* Hohoro, when competing- in the Electric Handicap at EHewli. yesterday, his second race of the day, was seen to stagger when -bout one hundred yards from tho winnwig poert. His jockey, Cress, dismounted, and tho old horse {&A and died in a second or so. Hohoro was a great public favorurite, and crowds of people swarmed on to tho course fo get hairs fnotn his mane and t-ul as mementoes. This waa tho seventh Auckland ESaater Meeting ti, which Hohoro had taken part.
