THE REV. xx. ROBJOHNS

SYDNEY, April 16. The death is announced of the Rev. H. Robjohns, well-known as the representative in Australasia of tho BiTcish and Foreign Bible Society.

Residents of tho Geraldine district will learn with regret of the death of Mr John O'Malley, which took place at his son_ residence, GenaMnie, early yesterday morning, 'ihe late Mr O'Malley in his young days was a fine stamp of a, man. H_ ait one time fought with Garibaldi's army, and on coming to tlie ookMiiies Ire joLfned the Irish Constabulary, and waa a prominent figure on Uie goldfields in New Zealand for many years. After leaving the force, Mr O'Malley went in laiigely for contracting in North Canterbury. Latter he became foreman for tlie Ohirastcliurcih City Coumo_, a position he retained for some years. He then became clerk and overseer to the Amuri County Counoill, an office ho held for fifteen years, when lie accepted tho position of clerk and overseer to the Geraldine Road Board. In this position ho remained fern* four years, when ho retired from active lite and came to reside in Christchurch. About two months ago ho went to Geraldine to visit hie son. On Sunday night lie was am. his usual good health, but ho died suddenly early yesterday morning. Charles Mollwo, a Russian, who in his time had a varied career, died in the Wellington Hospital on Friday. Many y«irs ago he wa.s sufficiently prominent to excite the attention of tho governing authorities of his native land, Russia, for he was a man of liberal education, and was not afraid to express discontent with the methods of the autocracy. Ho became a "marked man," and had to seek safety in flight, eventually reaching New Zealand. He ultimately settled in Wellington, where his pei-onality won him many friends. Seven or eight, years ago ho entered the Old Men's Home. Latterly his health began to fail him, and on Thursday his condition becamo so critical that he was removed to the Wellington Hospital, where ho died a few hours after his admission, at the age of seventy-six years.
