TARIFF REVISION.
(STECTAt TO "THE TEKSS.") WELLINGTON, April 14. There ie evidently going to be a very determined effort made on the part of manufacturers in the cities to eecuro a protective tariff during the coming session of Parliament. Speaking at the luncheon to Mr J. Mills on Tliuroday, Mr D. Robertoon, a local ironfounder, eaid that " If the colony was to keep in front, Parliament had a tough job before it. It had to set about a revision of the tariff to enable the colony to live within itself. * A country was no good that could not produce everything it needed. They must make New ZeaJand do that, and to e?cure that end Parliament must revise the tariff in favour of tho industries of the country." Probably the various fanners' organisations throughout the colony will have another story to tell.
