THE MURRAY WATERS.
SYDNEY, April 13. The Premiers have arrived at an arrangement respecting the Murray waters. The basis is that the channel of the river will be locked at various points between Blanchtown, Echuca, and the Murrumbidgee from its junction with the Murray to Hay. The estimated cost is £2,250,000, but the work will only bo proceeded with as it becomes apparent that the irrigation requirements aro interfering with navigation. In order to give South Australia greater facilities in navigation, weirs will be constructed in Lake Victoria, and the water thus impounded will make the Murray navigable for three months longer than at present. The three States will share the expense equally. The Premiere meet on Monday to ratify tho agreement.
