NEW ZEALAND EGG-LAYING COMPETITION.

BLENHEIM, March 3. The total for the forty-fourth week of tho New Zt«land Egg-laying -Association's competition is 1454, making a grand aggregate of 78,885. The highest layings for the week were in pens entered by the following:— Leger (Levin) 28, Betfca Edwards (i»ien~ heim) 27, Mick Shaw (Blenheim) 26, Ljnn Edwarde (Blenheim) 25. Ail these pens contained White Leghorns. The order of merit in the grand acgrefite is as follows:—Leger (Ivevhi) 1≤56, rooke (South Australia) 1122, Marlborough A. and P. Association 1119, Jonathan Hodson (Blonheim) 1088. iuick Shaw (Blenheim). 1087 (all the above being "White Leghorns), and Hockey's Brown Leghorns (Neteon) 1051. There are six other pens now above the thousand. Leger (Levin) wive laet month's prize with 111, Betha jadwards (Blenheim) second with 104, and Marlborough A. and P. Association third; with 103. Tho weather lias been favourable, and the moult is proceeding freely.
