Mr Selim. a Dutchman aud a wellknown Alpine climber, with his wife, is at present on an expedition >n the Southern Alps. .Mr Selim has already made the ascent of Elie do Beaumont. 10,200 ft., end when the lest mail left tho Hermitage he had made all preparations for undertaking the ascent of Mt. Cook.
